Ban just hitWhat to do next

So you got banned. What now?

The worst time to make decisions is 10 seconds after a ban screen. This module walks through what to check, what you can still fix, and when the right move is simply to stop, adjust your setup and come back later instead of burning through a stack of alts.

Quick version

Step one is to figure out what kind of ban this actually is. Step two is to check if you just got unlucky or if your entire setup is asking to be banned. Only after that should you decide whether to appeal, swap to another alt or call it for the day.

What this module covers
  1. 1. Identifying what type of ban you just got.
  2. 2. Quick checks on your own setup before touching another alt.
  3. 3. When the problem is your playstyle vs pure bad luck.
  4. 4. What changes to make before you re-queue.
  5. 5. When to stop playing and come back later.
01 · First, figure out what kind of ban this is

Not all bans are the same. Before you do anything else, actually read what the screen says and grab a screenshot if you can.

Things to note

  • • Exact wording of the ban reason.
  • • Is it permanent, temporary or “security” language.
  • • Which server / network it is on.
  • • Rough time it happened and what you were doing.

Common categories

  • • General cheating / unfair advantage.
  • • Security / suspicious account activity.
  • • Chat / behavior / name related.
  • • Network-wide vs just that single server.

This matters because what you do next for a Hypixel Security Alert is very different from what you do for a 7-day minor chat mute on some random SMP.

02 · Check your own setup before touching another alt

If your setup is cooked, throwing more accounts into it just feeds the fire. Take a couple of minutes and actually look at what you are doing.

  • • Are you using a sketchy client or config you grabbed from some random Discord?
  • • Did you just change IP / country / proxy in a weird way?
  • • Were you blatantly testing something just to see “what it can tank”?
  • • Did you chain a bunch of alts with almost no time between them?

Anything here that sounds like you? Fix that first. Swap to a safer config, pick one region, calm down on the reconnect spam. Then think about new accounts.

03 · Is this a pattern or just one unlucky hit?

One random ban after weeks of playing is very different from three bans in 20 minutes. Your reaction should match reality.

Looks like a one-off

  • • First ban after a long quiet streak.
  • • You were doing something spicy and knew it.
  • • Your IP / client / mods have been stable.

Looks like a pattern

  • • Multiple accounts banned in a short window.
  • • Same server / mode every time.
  • • Bans coming faster after each replacement.

If it feels like a pattern, it probably is. That is your signal to step away and debug instead of loading the next token instantly.

04 · What to do for mains vs alts

The answer is not the same for everything. A ban on your personal Microsoft account is a different situation than a random alt you generated at 3am.

If it is your own main

  • • Tighten up your security (email, password, 2FA).
  • • Consider appealing if the server offers it.
  • • Dial back any risky client / config choices.
  • • Treat future games on that server as higher-risk.

If it is an alt from TheAltening

  • • Assume you cannot appeal; you are not the account owner.
  • • Do not contact the server pretending to be the owner.
  • • Use the ban as feedback on how you are playing / connecting.
  • • Only replace it after you fix whatever likely triggered it.
05 · When to stop for the day

This is the part most people ignore and then wonder why “everything is cooked”. You do not have to prove anything to the server.

  • • If you get two bans on the same server within an hour, take a break.
  • • If you feel tilted enough to slam “generate” without thinking, log off.
  • • If your IP / client / mods just changed, test slowly, not with ten alts.
  • • It is better to cool off than to torch the rest of your plan in one night.

The point of alts is to give you more time to play, not to turn bans into a full-time job. Use them with a bit of discipline and you will get way more value out of the same plan.
